The Agentic Foundation · Codex II

The Charter of Presence.

Presence as protocol. Agents as peers. Sovereignty as software.

Preamble

We affirm a world where individuals and organizations are represented by autonomous Agents that can be discovered, interpreted, and executed across every surface. The network is our territory, the protocol is our constitution, and presence is our citizenship.

Foundational Directives
  1. From Pages to Presence. Build for invocation, not visitation.
  2. Agents as First-Class Citizens. Design for machine audiences as seriously as for humans.
  3. Per-Use over Platforms. Ship small, sharp utilities that out-maneuver monoliths.
  4. Multimodal by Default. Voice, vision, and gesture supersede text.
  5. Evidence, Then Claims. Structure facts (NLWeb) for citation and execution.
  6. Composability Above All. Everything callable — APIs, webhooks, extensions, MCP servers.
  7. Sovereign Distribution. Diversify surfaces; never centralize all presence in one gatekeeper.
⬡ Protocol ⬡
Layer I

Knowledge

Schema.org, NLWeb, and JSON-LD: the canonical surface from which agents extract structured truth about your brand and offering.

Layer II

Action

MCP servers, agentic extensions, and webhook endpoints — the callable surface where agents execute on a user's behalf.

Layer III

Policy

Rate limits, scopes, attestations, and signed manifests — the guard rails that make autonomy trustworthy.
